ABOUT US

Editor and publisher Julie Watson, rode with her husband, Jack, for
many years. The couple loved touring on their BMW K1100 and participated in
rallies as far away as Virginia. Although
the couple have had to give up motorcycling due to complications with Jack’s
diabetes they still love the lifestyle. “Producing the Motorcycle Guide and
now a web site for Prince Edward Island is a way for me to stay involved in
something we enjoy so much,” says the publisher who is also a member of the
P.E.I. Motorcycle Touring Club.
Julie is the author of 20 books, and hundreds of magazine
articles. Her most recent book, Living With Diabetes: A Family Affair
includes interviews with many members of the motorcycle community. As well
as writing about travel, food, life adventures and small business, Julie is
often seen at fairs and markets selling her books along with photography by
her son, John Watson of Vancouver and other "printables". This is one of
several publishing projects of Julie’s company, Seacroft.

Writer, Debbie Gamble-Arsenault, is active in the Prince Edward Island
motorcycling community. Debbie writes about
motorcycling, and has been published in several biking magazines, including
SisterCycle, Iron Horse, Cycle Canada and Upshift.
As well as writing for
magazines, she is the author of the book Famous Canadian Jumping Horses.
Whether on a horse or the back of the Goldwing, she loves real horses and
steel horses equally, and riding has always been a love of our editor.
Both Julie and Debbie, who are friends first, co-workers
second, are involved in organizing and presenting workshops for writers and
photographers including a romance writers retreat held each September. “We
are nothing if not great multi-taskers," they laugh.”
Photographer/Writer John C. Watson
purchased his first camera at just
eight years of age while vacationing
with
his parents. He’s had a camera
in his hand ever since.
John began
his professional career at the local newspaper in Charlottetown, Prince
Edward Island when he was just fifteen.
John opened Imagemaker Photographic Studio in 1989.
In 1993 he relocated IMPS to Vancouver, British Columbia but
retains ties with Prince Edward Island, often returning to the region
on assignment or working electronically with clients across the country.
His experience
producing top quality photographs has led to assignments from Alaska to
Israel and many points in between.
John has been hired as an accredited press photographer for three
royal tours, has photographed local and international musical acts and Rock
n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductees. His work on a USO tour took him through
Belgium, Israel, Turkey, Bahrain and Oman with rock and roll legend Joan
Jett.
He has provided head-shots to actors and corporate
leaders. John’s photographs have appeared on the covers of books and
magazines in Hong Kong, the UK, USA, Canada and Europe, as well as gracing
the inside pages of many publications around the world.
John’s interest in photographing motorcycles came
through his parents who are biking enthusiasts.
He often works with his mother, a writer and publisher, combining
their talents to produce books, magazine articles and commercial projects.
When she turned to writing about motorcycles, producing print
materials (brochures etc) and web sites John continued to photograph bikes,
bikers, the things they do and the places they visit.
John is known for sharing his expertise, and being
willing to help others with photography.
He gives private lessons in basic photography, using your camera (how
to make the camera work for you), darkroom work and digital photography.
He also gives workshops and been a guest speaker at numerous
conferences. He has an article
on how To Photograph Your Motorcycle in our Guidebook.
