STEELETTO WHEELS
Women are making their mark in sectors all over the
world, and the world of motorcycling is no exception. On PEI, more and
more women are getting into the motorcycling lifestyle as riders, rather
than passengers. Women who want to ride now have an opportunity to join
a group especially for them: the Steeletto Wheels.
Started in August/September of 2007, the group now
boasts 35 members. We re
really excited, says group
President Sue Platts. Word
is just getting out The group meets at 7 pm at Papa Joe s on University
Avenue in Charlottetown on the third Tuesday of the month. They may move
the meetings to accommodate those who live outside of Charlottetown, so
check it out. There is a nominal membership fee for the year.
This is an all inclusive group, for women of all
ages who have varied interests in bikes,
says Platts. All
types of bikes are welcome. You can own & ride your own bike, ride on
the back of a bike, be planning to purchase a bike or just love anything
about them. You don't have to ride to be a member of this group!!! For

SOUTHERN CRUISERS RIDING CLUB
The Southern Cruisers Riding Club is a free,
family-oriented Motorcycle riding club that uses the Web to communicate with
its members, and focuses on the enjoyment and fellowship of riding
motorcycles while doing so safely.
The Southern Cruisers rules are very simple:

Always ride safely, and don’t give the Club a bad name.
SCRC members just want to ride for the thrill of riding.
Most of their trips are local, so whether you ride a Honda, Harley, Yamaha,
Kawasaki, Suzuki (or whatever!) you will always be welcomed at the Southern
Cruisers Riding Club.

Wednesdays, leaving at 7 pm.

CANADIAN ARMY VETERANS
(CAV)
‑ “South Africa Unit” (2nd CAV)
Under the name of
Canadian Army Veterans—The CAV is a brotherhood of serving and veteran
motorcycle enthusiasts who have volunteered to serve our country, whether it
be in regiments, on ships or with air squadrons or bases across Canada and
overseas.
CAV units formed across Canada are named in tribute of
Canadian Battle Honours, to continue the traditions and bonds formed in war
and peace.
The CAV was formed by Canadian Veterans whose
common bond was service to one’s country and the fact they were avid
motorcyclists. To date we have members who have served our country in every
theatre of military operations, in peace or at war; as members of NATO, the
United Nations or members of Canada’s present Army, Navy or Air Force.
Our Mission is to provide our members with a unit to
continue service to each other and our communities and country. We are a
brotherhood of Canadian Army Veterans, mounted on motorcycles of all
different types. The CAV promotes safe, responsible motorcycling.
Alongside our Veteran Supporter members, (brothers,
sisters, husbands, wives, partners, friends and comrades that share a love
of country, community and motorcycles) we continue to volunteer our time for
our Country by actively supporting each other, our brothers in arms and our
communities through charity rides and events.
The CAV is now represented
on PEI by the South Africa Unit. Although we don’t have regular meetings at
present, we try to get together every couple of months in the off season.
Meetings currently rotate between Ch’town and
S’side.
We are in the planning stages for the upcoming riding
season, with two charity rides (so far) planned: the "Ride 4 Dad" in June,
and a “Ride for the Troops” in August.
